What I love about you...

Weeks 13-16

Four months already! We are having so much fun with you that I forget to take pictures.  Here are a few favorites from this month...

I LOVE that you are getting bigger and filling out with all the Mommy milk. I'm comfortable letting the girls carry you around more.  They love it too!  

I LOVE how much you have changed our family and are teaching us all.  You've brought us closer as a family.  Only Abba could have done such a thing! The other night during Scripture time I looked over at you sitting is Sissy's lap and my eyes filled with tears.  The children adore you, are learning life skills from you and have learned to happily serve even more within our home.  Sissy is a huge help to me.  If I can't tend to you she gladly asks if she can.  She's the only one besides me that can put you down for naps with the exception of Gregory rocking you to sleep once this month.  He was so proud!  I LOVE that Sissy enjoys holding you while teaching or playing piano. You are learning the sounds and it calms you.

I LOVE that you have found your voice! You coo SO loudly throughout the day.  Even when you are nursing you will stop to look up at me and coo.  I LOVE that! You squeal in delight whenever we talk and interact with you.  You love Daddy and give him the best smiles! I LOVE how cute and tiny you look when he holds you. It reminds of our other girls and how fast they've grown and to cherish each moment with you as the days go by so quickly.

I LOVE that you no longer require the sound of running water or being outside to calm you.  Whew! That was a chore when we were out on errands.  We once had to flush the toilet in a Target over and over to get you to fall asleep!!  Now you go to sleep between 8:30-9pm each night and sleep until about 5am.  I feed you and put you back down then wake you for the day at 8am. You still spit up a lot and more than any of the other babies.  Mostly when I don't burp you well.  I LOVE that I can put you in your "command center" and you like it.  That is a term Daddy came up with for the excersaucer when Gregory was little. You are learning to bring objects to your mouth once you have actually grabbed them.

I LOVE to see you on the kitchen counter in your bouncy where so much of our hours are spent and as a part of our normal routine as life unfolds around you.  You are taking it all in and learning.

I LOVE that you have inspired Victoria to learn how to make things.  Here is her first dress she made just for you! 

We spent your first Thanksgiving at the Ranch with family.  It was your first time to wear shoes.  Of course the girls picked them out and just HAD to get them for you when we saw them at the store.

I LOVE you so much Moriyah.  You are a blessing! We are looking forward to your 5th month as you begin to sit up and roll over more if you are left alone long enough to accomplish these skills.  You are always being held by someone!  I'm so thankful each day to have you in our lives and family ♥

What I love about you...

Weeks 9-12

What a fun and full 3rd month you have had with all the fall biblical appointed times. Lots of celebrations and special memories made. I took more video this month than pictures. I'll include some of my favorites...

  

I Love...

• carrying you in the sling and how cute you look when Daddy carries you

• the way you stick your tongue out and suck on it ALL the time

• how well you sleep

• all your many faces

• taking you to the zoo for the first time

Apparently they woke Moriyah up from her nap and began singing to her!

We went on our first family camping trip with you this month to celebrate Sukkot.  You did very well sleeping on the camper for the most part.  You got used to the noise and learned to sleep through it.  I carried you in the sling a lot and you learned to nap that way.  Your sleeping routine is 9:30-4am most nights and then I feed you again at 7am to start your day.  I love all your big smiles and coos.  You are starting to bring objects to your mouth but mostly suck on your hands and on your tongue which is too cute!  We are nursing exclusively but I put you in disposables for camping and have not gone back to our cloth diapers but plan to this week.  We are all looking forward to spending more time outdoors with the cooler weather and letting your wear your cute hats sissy makes you! I love you so much "Miss Meee-I-ya" as Dalton calls you.

What I love about you

Weeks 5-8

Are you really 2 months old already?  What a precious baby girl you are.  I love you so much.  We are having so much fun with you.  Here are a few photos from the last month.

I Love...

• how much fun it is to take pictures of you

• how cute you look in everything Sissy makes for you

• giving you a bath

• Putting you on the kitchen counter while I'm cooking (you tend to draw LOTS of attention)

• your chair Daddy brought home for camping trips.  You love it and sleep so good in it!

• how good Irelyne and Rebekah are with you and love to hold you and sing to you (we all do)

• carrying you in my newborn sling on our very first family nature walk with you

• how cute you looked on Sissy's 15th birthday party

• the sign on my bedroom door that Daddy made for us

• your coos and smiles

I love that you are becoming more alert, smiling and cooing at all of us.  You are getting longer and weigh around 11 pounds.  I will know for sure next week when I go for my Midwife checkup.  This month I have had the beginnings of mastitis a few times and was able to fight it off with garlic and cabbage leaves.  Thankfully it never got to the point of fever.  We are not doing a lot away from home and I am getting rest since you are a good sleeper so it's probably me nursing you while I sleep or that you sleep up to 5 or 6 hours at night sometimes.  So I've started waking you up at least twice a night if you don't wake yourself.  

Some of your firsts for the month...

• ate dinner at a restaurant and you did well.  Sissy put you to sleep.

• You had your first mild cold this month.  I took extra fresh garlic cloves and you were well in no time.

• Sissy watched you while I ran errands with Daddy for a few hours.  I was completely comfortable with it.  I nursed you and then left.  You did great and when we got back you were napping.  

Everything in my life is timed.  It works for me, keeps me organized and allows me to fit everything in.

I still wake you at 7am each morning to start our day and you take two really good naps each day that I can count on.  I love that you are becoming more alert and we are starting to see some personality.

I love you Moriyah Elyse! I'm looking forward to your first fall feasts and camping for 12 days at Sukkot in a few weeks.
