Midwife Appointment

Posted by Stephanie on 9:09 AM
Yesterday we interviewed a different midwife than the one I used for the last three homebirths. She used to work with my old midwife and I had met her a few times when I was pregnant with Dalton. I remember telling David I would love to use her in the future. She has a completley different disposistion. She's older, same experience (about 30 years) but she's less evasive and very much laid back. David said he liked that she was so calm and kept asking what I prefer instead of sharing what works best for her. Another positive is that her fee is completley covered by our insurance! We've always paid out of pocket. A lot has changed in the past 4 years since Dalton was born. More people having babies at home!!
I've gone back and forth between unassisted and assisted and I feel like I am getting the best of both worlds with Debra.

As for symptoms I am extremely tired with no energy. None. I sleep at least 10 hours each night. I've never taken naps but I'm taking them now. Our schedule is shot. I am so thankful for my husband. He's constantly encouraging me to enjoy this time and not to worry about what I could be doing. As I have bouts of nausea, he's there to jump in where I'm lacking and the children have been really good about it, too.

There is so much peace in our home. It's completely supernatural. Not that we didn't have peace before or that things were bad but it's SO peaceful!! As I go into my 8th week I'm thankful to be past the point of my last miscarriage and thankful that our family is learning and growing closer through this pregnancy. Praise YHWH from whom all blessings flow!

Wow, I am amazed that your insurance covers homebirth!! I don't have insurance so it came out of our tax refund last time. Debra looks very experienced and like she would be wonderful to have!

Sorry you are so tired and nauseated. You looked great the other day! :)

Love you, girl! Hang in there. Take your naps and rest. I'm so glad your insurance is covering this baby's birth. It'll be wonderful. Know that we love you guys and are thrilled for you!

I am happy to know my mid-wife now has a birthing center. She has informed me that the cost is still the same whether I birth at home or at the center which is awesome. Since Ben, I'm a little nervous about being home, but My Mid-wife says we are going to have an extensive ultrasound done this time. Amen to that. So glad you like the new mid-wife and have the ball rolling.

Again...I can not say how excited I am for you! Glad you found a midwife you like AND that it's covered by healthcare! Our province has just started covering midwifery, but it does me no good being "high risk" and all...lol So I'll stick to unassisted. Enjoying your updates on the pregnancy! Hope your energy returns soon!

Scripture and Quotes

"Children are a heritage of YHWH; the fruit of the womb is His reward. As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. " Psalm 127:3-4

The Scriptures teach that debt is a curse and children are blessings; but in our culture, we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture.
